1- How did you decide to do this job?


My life story has led me to be more attentive to the emotional states of the other and this is one of the factors that guided me towards this profession. Moreover I am a curious person and without the curiosity to know you cannot be a psychologist.

2- What's your opinion about pandemic psychology in general world?


Social isolation due to the pandemic may have led some people to experience anxious or depressive symptoms. We also think of those who suffered from psychopathology before the pandemic and how quarantine interrupted their recovery process: for example, a person with a depressed mood should daily engage in reactivating behaviors such as sports, walks, social relationships, etc. Many people have lost their loved ones and have not had the opportunity to greet them one last time and attend the funeral, this can have serious consequences on psychological health. Unfortunately, psychological support in Italy has not been guaranteed to all those people for whom the pandemic has had traumatic implications.

3- How we can understand our therapist is right for us or how can we choose?


There are different therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy or dynamic or psychoanalytic therapy. Each of these approaches has different ways of approaching the patient and psychological suffering. It may be helpful for the person considering initiating therapy to do some research on various therapeutic approaches and get an idea for choosing a therapist. The good therapist is the one who works with us to achieve the agreed goals, if this is not the case we will realize it and perhaps we will think of changing.



4- Do you think everyone needs therapy or how can we decide the time we go (short-long)? Can we decide with therapist or therapist says this for us to finish?


The choice of starting a therapy is very personal and can have many reasons, one of these being the level of suffering that has become unbearable for the patient. The duration of the therapy is variable and is agreed with the patient, It all depends on the time needed to reach the therapeutic objectives.


5- Can therapy make us lazy since we can always ask for therapist or cry to him or her so should we try to fix by ourselves first?


The goal of therapy is to make the patient aware of how his thoughts, affective states and behaviors work, to then provide him with the appropriate tools to deal with his vulnerabilities. it is a work that is done together during the therapy.

6- Therapists are also human so how can we trust their words? They can also make mistakes...


The therapist is a human being expert in psychological suffering and like any human being can make mistakes. But only a human being can be welcoming empathic and guarantee active listening to the patient. A robot would not make theoretical errors but would be able to fully understand the pain of the person in front of him.


7- Do you think relationship therapies helps people to solve their relationship or marriage problems?


There are numerous types of couple therapy. Their effectiveness depends on numerous variables such as patient motivation, current living conditions, level of emotional awareness, etc.
